Alternative Machanical LLC

  Company History

Richard Ortega and Kevin Fahl worked in the field together for over twenty five years before finally making good on their promise to someday open their own business.  In February of 2004 with a well rounded background in industrial maintenance and large construction projects as well as supervision and management experience, they launched off on an adventure called Alternative Mechanical, LLC.

Starting with Kevin's truck and a "do what ever it takes" attitude the two partners set about building a company that presently employs over 35 people and has over 5 million in annual sales.  "We never had a plan "B" so failure wasn't an option" Richard Ortega remembers and "We can always out work 'em" was the mantra that kept Kevin Fahl focused through the tough times as a start up company.

It was the original vision of the partners to establish themselves as a viable player in the mechanical field by the time that the M-6 corridor was developing and the multiple projects on the "Medical Hill" were breaking Ground.  With current projects on both the "Hill" and M-6 the vision has become a reality.

Certified as a Minority Contractor by the MMBDC it was also the foresight of the owners to provide opportunities to all persons within the community that it serves.  Offering good paying jobs with solid benefits, training, and growth potential for anyone who was willing to work hard and apply themselves.  Today, Alternative Mechanical is very proud to have accomplished that goal as nearly 40% of its employees are minorities and women.

Winning several awards for construction and community involvement,
